I have just tried your TimeHive project with Symfony 1.4.9
I have discovered Symfony, PHP, Mysql at the same time as your project during this afternoon.
As a beginner, should I use Symfony 2 in place of 1.4.9 ? -

No the current version only works with Symfony 1.4.x. This will change with version 2.0 of TimeHive

What will be the new functionalities of version 2.0 (except Symfony2 advantages, if any) ?

There is no roadmap for the V.2 at the moment. There are some ideas I have but nothing concrete. There will some 1.x releases before I will start on V2
